PHOTO-ART UNPARALLELED FOR ALL INTERIORS AND EXTERIORS
- a variety of samples included -

The photography of Howard Finkelson creates a palette of form, texture and color... a world between painting and photography that has been exhibited in New York, Hong Kong and London, with a major exhibition in New York and Beijing again this year.

Finkelson, a former city planner, has lived in Afghanistan and travelled widely in Asia, where he has added appreciably to his distinctive body of photo art. Studying Hinduism and Buddhism has helped him achieve this pure abstract form of photography.

His vision inhabits two worlds, as in eastern philosophy, where everything contains the seed of its opposite. "This", says Finkelson, "is what I found in my work. Concreteness closely examined contains or becomes infinite space, unfolds an eternal mystery, a timeless sense. Form itself has formlessness... solids are also void spaces. Objects are as much space and energy and movement, as they are form."

"Form is Emptiness": Finkelson's recent collaboration with Zen Dance founder, foremost Korean choreographer, Dr. Sun Ock Lee, expands upon the fusion of meditative Zen practice and contemporary dance theatre.

Other commissions with dance companies include Singapore Dance Theatre, New Zealand Ballet Company and the Monte Carlo Ballet.
